TripAdvisor's Customer Reviews
So booked this trip as I only had one day to see the best bits of Beijing. Expected a coach and instead there were only two of us in a taxi, perfect! The travel guide was also great, informative but not too intrusive. A perfect excursion and it helped that the weather was marvellous. The great wall was on my bucket list and didnt disappoint!
Zoe, our tour guide was the best. Very fluent in English and very experienced and knowledgable. She was a blast and kept us together several times enjoying the sights while she went and stood in lines to get us tickets. Really made for a pleasant time and we were all pals by the end of the day. Really glad to see the sights we did on this tour and we used the tram to go up/down the Great Wall. Very cool
Our guide was excellent in her English it was a great history lesson and Unforgettable experience to see the Great Wall in all its history to see Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City and all the aspirations of the first emperor it was wonderful
I did this trip last year and I still remember how well organized it was. If you have just a stop over, this is the best solution.
It was amazing. We went to the wall and experienced different sites. Since it was not tourist season aswell, it was not packed. Highly recommended. Its a nice way to experience Beijing when you are travelling by yourself
We had the pleasure to have Li as our tour guide, very knowledgeable and entertaining. Lunch they served was ok.
Leo was an amazing tour guide. Nothing felt rushed. The forbidden city is gorgeous, and he knew all the best spots for pictures. We didn’t go to Badaling, but went to another section instead that was closer. It was steep but the views were worth it.
This was our first tour in China and our tour guide did NOT disappoint. Our day was WONDERFUL and we have seen/experienced a LOT OF NICE THINGS :- Our guide was helpful and informative. He showed up on time and was friendly. This tour is well/fairly priced and SHOULD NOT BE MISSED!!!
We enjoyed and highly recommend the Beijing Essential Full-Day Tour. Our tour guide was amazing, spoke good English and really made our trip enjoyable and educational as well.
Exceptional Day Tour!
I was expecting to be in a mini-van but got picked up at the Marriott City Wall Hotel by the tour guide,Michael, and his driver,Xie, in a stylish sedan. Thus, I was given a private tour for the entire day 20th October,2017.
The highlights were:
1. Tiananmen Square and this coincided with the 5 yearly Congress, so the decoration of the Square was striking. The friendliness of the thousands of Chinese tourists was memorable.
2.The Forbidden City:a very long walk through the entire historical site:perfectly preserved and perfectly clean.
3.The Great Wall: involved a long drive on a beautiful expressway.Xie's driving was exceptional.I was given free time to explore and walk the Great Wall. The preservation, the width and the height of the Wall is impressive.Once again, the friendliness of the Chinese tourists was highly memorable.
On the Tour we visited a Jade Engraving factory, a Silk factory and a Chinese Tea House. At each of these there was an expectation to buy product:this is my only negative comment. However, these visits ensured the cultural experience was complete.
The Tour lasted almost 11 hours and the treatment I received from Michael and Xie made the Tour perfect: the knowledge they shared, their manner and their effort to make the day memorable.
This Day Tour stands out compared to others I have done in other major cities. My impression of Beijing was thoroughly enriched: this is a City that is vibrant:modern, clean and organised for the huge population who live there.
Noteworthy was the price charged by Viator: much less than similar tours that I had read about, prior to making a decision on which one to choose.
