A short distant from the city outskirt is Batu Caves – a massive limestone outcrop with its interior dominated by a sacred Hindu shrine lined with different deities, located deep inside the high caverns which take 272 steps to reach. Outside the caves, marvel at the 43m high golden statue of Lord Murugan. Tour also include a visit to a traditional Malaysian Batik Centre to see how Batik is printed or hand-drawn using wax and dye, and Royal Selangor Pewter Visitor Centre to witness the making of pewterware – Malaysian’s most distinctive craft. Note: Driver/guide may not able to accompany guests in climbing up the caves, narration will be given in any case.

TripAdvisor's Customer Reviews
David the tour guide was great and very informative, even offered to drop us off in the city instead of our hotel.
This was a fantastic tour prompt collection from our hotel, informative guide took us to the royal selengor pewter factory which was stunning, then onto silk garment factory before the highlight of the tour the batu caves, plenty of steps but can be done at your own pace and there are paces to stop and get great views back on the city, once at the top the temple and cave are spectacular, as expected the area at the back of the stairs has become very commercial for the tourists and you can pick up all types of souvenirs, the gold statue is an amazing picture, would recommend this tour
Not enough time 3 hour bus tour to caves took us to a factory instead of caves didn’t give us time for the caves n workshop very rushed
Really enjoyed this tour - was traveling solo and was pleasantly surprised when I joined and there was an entire group of solo travellers my age who also signed up! It was nice as we all had things in common. I mostly chose this tour for Batu caves - which were beautiful! But the bonus of going to the other two stops actually ended up being a highlight - really enjoyed the trip to the pewter factory. I had such limited knowledge and it was so great to learn more about this production and history! Our guide, David, was fantastic. He was super personable and you could tell was really passionate about the tour and he has a lot of knowledge and spoke great English. I would sign up for this again just to be on his tour!!
David was a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. The Batu Caves are beautiful and fascinating, and I learned a lot more from David than I would have if I had visited alone. Highly recommended tour and tour guide!
Keep in mind Viator is a consolidator and hands off the actual tour to a 3 party. I have used their service twice for this tour. Once in 2018 and again last month 2020.
Both times were acceptable but this most recent tour was exceptionally good. The driver/guide ,David, was very well informed with excellent communication skills.
I think the actual Company was Travel and Tour Incentives. In any event, David should be complimented. The communication with pick up time etc. was prompt and courteous via text message. Much better then the first go around.
Very good guide, excellent small trip for such a good price. Myself and my friends ar very satisfied.
The textile factory wasn't up to anything but pewter place had great history and was awesome. Loved the caves.. Tour guide was amaxing
rate is on higher side w.r.t klook but ticket availability is fine in last moment plan.
also driver is very good means knowledge level is fine and very co -operative
This was exactly what we expected. We had limited time (half day before flight to Singapore) and Batu Caves was the last item on our must see list while in KL. I think that it was worth spending money - travelling in private we have saved a lot of time, have seen what we wanted to see and were guided by professional driver / guide who really shared with us his knowledge about the place and gave us enough time to explore on our own pace. We have seen Batu Caves, batik factory, Royal Selangor pottery and a Chinese temple at the very end. We have also been given advice about one of the best Chinese restaurants on our way home so that we had a great lunch before departing KUL. Special thanks to the very professional guide and to the organizer - we had 3 trips with the same provider and I must say that two of them were really excellent.
