TripAdvisor's Customer Reviews
This was one of the highlights of our holiday. It was a wonderful and unique cultural experience and definitely worth doing. We booked our tour through eOasia, our friendly driver Bagus shared lots of great information about Bali and helped us take some photos to help capture the memories. The traditional dance combined with the sunset was breathtaking, and it was great to witness and be immersed in such a rich cultural story. We ended the experience with a beautiful seafood dinner on the beach. Highly recommend!
This tour was terrible and boring. The only thing we like was the view of the cliff besides the food on the beach.
Uluwatu is one of the wonders of nature and a must see. The sunset on the cliff is one image that remains with many a visitor forever. The mixture of color in the sky as the sun dips over the ocean is a scene I carry in my minds eye forever.
The advert is very misleading; where do I start ? The driver was reckless and nearly got us killed twice on the road. They refused to provide the dinner at Jimbaran Bay saying "that's not included in the offer"; and also having the audacity to make us pay for our own tickets for to enter Uluwatu AND for the Kecak dance !!! The "private tour" is composed of one guy following you around to take pictures, and has nothing to share about the history or culture. Total rip-off, STAY AWAY !
The culture show was so-so. They packed as many tourists as possible. People sat even on the floor because so crowded. There are fake security guys out there. Watch out for it. They looked for single attractive girl/woman and do selected search through their purse and backpack. Seafood dinner by the beach was excellent. Food is excellent. Even local music band going around table to table singing songs. You have to pay them. If you paid them too little, they'll tell you.
This was a FANTASTIC trip! Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave in depth explanations for everything that we saw throughout our tour. The temple and kecak dance were beautiful and fascinating and then the dinner afterwards was so delicious and was right on the beach! We had no complaints and would highly recommend this tour!
Was our last night in Bali and was an amazing way to spend it. We were picked up on time by our tour guide and due to the traffc being not to busy we went to the coffee plantation, where our guide told us all about the different coffees and teas, we had a tasting of them all and was the best tea and coffee I've ever had- ended up buying 4 packets to take home! After that we were driven to the temple.
During the drive our guide told us all there is to know about Balinese culture, ceremonies and food. Was so knowledgable. Once at the temple the guide insisted on taking photos of my partner and I which was a very thoughtful gesture.
As for the temple, it has AMAZING views, breath-taking. We were warned in advance about the monkeys stealing things but we didn't see that many but be cautious as have heard they do steal phones and bags. The keyak show was very entertaining, did not expect it to be so funny- was very humorous. Be warned, it is very hot and you sit on hot cement cramped next to people. If you do not arrive on time you will have to sit on the floor so something to be aware of.
After the show we were driven to Jimbaran Bay for dinner on the beach, was a beautiful set up with candles and the seafood dinner was so tasty and VERY generous servings! Some of the best seafood Ive eaten, and for the price you pay its very good value for money.
The highlight of the whole tour would be our tour guide- his name was Made Oka Darpa, so if you're fortunate to have him then you're in for an amazing night. He was accommodating, friendly, knowledge and professional. Will be sure to use the tour group again when we return to Bali. Was the best way to end our trip, so thank you for the fond memories Tour East Bali.
I was pickup on time .i was told since I was single there was no one else we could stop at coffee plantation first. Really wonderful show. Great dinner with seafood
My wife and I took this tour last Saturday evening when in Bali. Tour East provided a private air-conditioned car, with driver and tour guide, Windra. The car was very clean and in excellent condition. They picked us up from our hotel in Nusa Dua around 3:30pm and then drove us to Uluwatu first, where we had chance to look around the 11th century temple, walk along the cliff tops admiring the stunning views and then watch the famous (and very entertaining) Kecak Show whilst enjoying the stunning backdrop of the sunset. Windra came us a very detailed explanation of the importance of the Hindu temple and many aspects of the Hindu faith, which were very interesting.
After the show they then took us to Jimbaran Bay, where we enjoyed a lovely seafood meal on the beach, before dropping us back to our hotel around 10:30pm.
The whole evening cost us 900,000 Rupiah each (approx £46) which, considering this was private transportation, driver, guide, included the admission fees for the temple and the Kecak Show, plus all food for the beach bbq, we thought was terrific value. We would highly recommend this trip - see a sample of our photos as an example of what you'll enjoy.
The only downside for us was a very long wait for the show to start and feeling very cramped in the outdoor amphitheater. Make sure you take some water to the show with you as it got very hot whilst waiting in the Bali sunshine.
This tour was good! Totally worth the views of the cliff and the amazing photo opportunities. There was a lot of extra time hanging around before heading into the show. I had gone to Bali during the rainy season so we didn't get to see the beautiful sunsets, but this night was rather clear, no clouds, and I walked away from the show to see the sunset. The show is interesting, it tells a story and you have a handout in English explaining the show. After the show you can take pictures with the cast members. The dinner was a massive seafood dinner on the beach. It was really nice change of pace. I believe all we paid extra was for alcoholic drinks.
