TripAdvisor's Customer Reviews
Had such a lovely time on the canal cruise. Very cosy interior and seated in a booth with table. We saw places and things in Amsterdam that we haven’t before, even though it’s our fourth time this year! Thoroughly enjoyed! Would not recommend bringing babies or small children. Lots of crying and Sometimes couldn’t hear the captain speaking over this which was annoying. The captain was great at narrating and played good music too.
Disappointing on many fronts. The audio guide is probably the same as for our evening cruise as the daytime cruises, so references to colour and shapes were impossible and no clurle as to which side of the boat you should be looking. The background music did not fade out when the information was being relayed over the headset. I think it's fair to say the route takes you on the outer perimeter of Amsterdam and misses the inner canals.
It was a bit boring to be honest, pretty but a bit boring. No tour guide, just a recording that gave you no sense of direction so I would miss seeing what they were talking about once in a while. Where were we on the map? No ability to ask questions! Also there were a couple times the language just randomly switched to Dutch or something. Also, I have hearing aids so difficult to wear the ear buds, I had to hold it by my ear a lot. No ability to buy snacks or drinks so be sure and bring your own.
The boat kept on stalling and making strange noises. The commentator was out of sink with the whole tour repeating same thing all the time.
The views of Amsterdam at night will be with me forever. The Evening Canal trip was the perfect opportunity to catch the lights and beauty of Amsterdam in all its glory. The loading point was just down the canal from the Hard Rock Hotel where we were staying. I recommend you book early online to secure your spot on a boat. We had a great time…our tour lasted 1 1/2 hours the longer the better.
If I had a do-over, I'd do the day tour rather than the night. I think you see more of the personality of Amsterdam during the day because of the different architecture of the housing and boat houses along the canal. Day tour would be better for photos and videos. The price was about right for what was delivered.
Being that it was raining and the windows were fogged up it was difficult to see any of the sights. If the tour director would have pointed out whether the sites he was pointing out were on the left or right sides it would have made it a better trip as it was difficult to see without having to guess where the points of interest were located. Lovely staff, however
Excellent sunset cruise and good narration by the captain, he was informative and humorous.
However I find your online comment requirement to make a lengthy statement to be very annoying. I typically I refuse to make any comment but I thought I’d make you aware of the fact that having to make lengthy not brief comments is counter productive.
Relaxing tour with an option for audio tour. Cute tables to sit at. 10pm cruise was great opportunity to see a lot of the city centre at night.
Arrive early to secure window seats.
Seeing Amsterdam from canal and at night is completely different than walking its streets. Enjoyed it.
I only wish if there were more open space at the end of the boat as outside is more enjoyable and it became crowded at the end of tour.
